Enjoy a Santa Barbara Engagement Session at the Beach!

Have a Santa Barbara engagement session at the beach! It is such a wonderful way to get accustomed to being photographed before your wedding day! If you love the sounds of waves and the running through the waves then an engagement session at the beach is ideal for you! Santa Barbara is lined with many beautiful beaches to serve as backdrop to your photos. These are 3 of my favorite locations in Santa Barbara! Because the light is so much softer and golden, I recommend having a beach session during the much-loved “Golden Hour”, the hour before sunset. These are 3 of my favorite beach locations in Santa Barbara…

 

Butterfly Beach

Butterfly Beach is located in front of the Four Season Biltmore in Montecito. This is a popular mainly with Santa Barbara locals, many who walk their dogs at the water’s edge as well as well as hotel guests. The beach’s pristine shoreline is ideal for photo-taking. And after our session you can enjoy a drink or two at the lounge at the hotel.

 

 

East Beach

A little secret: the best spot on East Beach is right across the street from the iconic Chromatic Gate on Cabrillo Boulevard. This spot is far from the business of the pier to the north and the volleyball courts to the south. I love how this stretch of beach has one of our iconic blue lifeguard stations and heavily lined with palm trees.

 

 

Mesa Lane Beach

Mesa Lane Beach is located north and in the neighborhood know as “The Mesa.” It’s a beautiful walk down and a good day’s workout going back up! I love this beach for it’s cliffs and rocks resting near the shoreline. Photographing at this beach requires knowing when high tide is!
