Enjoy a Santa Barbara Engagement Session with Architecture!
Have a Santa Barbara engagement session with architecture. It is such a wonderful way to get accustomed to being photographed before your wedding day! And Santa Barbara is filled to the brim with a beautiful Spanish style to serve as backdrop to your photos. These are 3 of my favorite locations in Santa Barbara! If you’re interested in other locations check out my blogposts featuring nature, cityscape, and the beach sessions!
The Courthouse
The Santa Barbara Courthouse was built in 1927 and is not only a favorite tourist spot but also one of our most popular wedding venues! Every inch of the courthouse is photogenic! We can schedule a session any time of day here between 8am and 5pm. We can explore inside until 5pm but the outdoors area is available until sunset. A few iconic areas of the courthouse include the large archway at the entrance, the clock tower with a 360º view of Santa Barbara, and the circular staircase.
El Paseo Courtyard
This courtyard is one of my favorite secret locations in Santa Barbara and it’s located right outside of the El Paseo restaurant! The multiple flags lining the corridor add a colorful element to the photos. And I love the courtyard fountain that adds an extra element of romance! This area definitely reflects the feel of “old” Santa Barbara.
The Mission
Still home to the Franciscan friars, the Old Mission is a Santa Barbara historic icon. With it’s pink pillars and enormous staircase, the Mission adds a “pop” to your photographs. After closing we can take photos on the grounds or across the way in the famous rose garden (where I got married!). And because the light is softer, I recommend having an outdoor session here during the much-loved “Golden Hour”, the hour before sunset.
