Enjoy a Santa Barbara Engagement Session in Nature!
Do you love being surrounded by all things outdoorsy and exploring through foliage and blossoms? Enjoy a Santa Barbara engagement session in nature! Having an engagement session is a wonderful way to get accustomed to being photographed before your wedding day. And Santa Barbara has so many beautiful parks and gardens to serve as backdrop to your photos. These are 3 of my favorite locations in Santa Barbara!
If you’re interested in other locations besides parks and gardens then check out my blogposts featuring architecture, cityscape, and the beach sessions! Because the light is so much softer and golden, I recommend having a nature session during the much-loved “Golden Hour”, the hour before sunset. These are 3 of my favorite locations in Santa Barbara…
Douglas Preserve a.k.a Wilcox Preserve
The first location for a Santa Barbara engagement session in nature is the Douglas Preserve. In the spring the Douglas Preserve is one the prettiest locations to photograph. Blooming flowers and golden hour are sublime! We will traverse through nearly 70 acres of greenery and blossoms. Don’t worry we won’t walk all 70 acres! The park supports several native habitats including southern oak woodland and coastal bluff scrub. The grounds include a variety of trees, including coastal live oaks, Monterey pine and Monterey cypress. And if we stay until sunset we can watch the sun go down from the cliffs enjoying the deep colors and silhouettes that nature offers! This is a great location if you would like to include your dog in the photos.
Alice Keck Park Gardens
Located ever-so-conveniently in the middle of downtown, we can explore the turtle pond, bridges, the awesome gnarly trees, and just enjoy nature in a square city block. And then you can hang out downtown afterwards!
